Flashover occurred! 3 people killed and 3 injured!

According to the CCTV News client, at around 9 am on January 11, a flashover incident occurred in the space of the sewage treatment tank inside the Xiamen Jindawie Vitamin Co., Ltd. in Haicang District, Xiamen City. The accident caused 3 construction workers to die and 3 others to be injured and sent to the hospital for treatment. The preliminary investigation showed that the sudden flare-up of combustible gas in the space of the sewage treatment tank occurred during the installation of a sunshade shed above the tank by the company, resulting in the collapse of the sewage treatment tank and the sunshade shed above it. The specific cause of the accident is still under further investigation.

What is flashover?

Flashover is a kind of explosion that occurs when flammable gas accumulates in a space with poor air circulation to a certain concentration, and then explodes immediately when it encounters an open flame or spark. In general, it only causes a one-time explosion, but if the flammable gas can be replenished in time, it may cause multiple explosions.
