ABOUT
Hanhai Opto-electronic is a major scientific research achievement transformation institution of the Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
At 16:00 on May 29, 2023, a large poisoning and suffocation accident occurred when personnel from the Jiuxin Plumbing Distribution Department conducted confined space construction work at the Tunlan Purified Water Plant of the Environmental Protection and Greening Branch of Xishan Coal and Electricity (Group) Co., Ltd. in Gujiao City, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, resulting in four deaths and direct economic losses of 8.0612 million yuan.
A few days ago, the Taiyuan Emergency Management Bureau of Shanxi Province released the accident investigation report.
After investigation, it was determined that the "5.29" major poisoning and suffocation accident at the Tunlan Purified Water Plant of Taiyuan Gujiao Xishan Coal and Electricity Environmental Protection and Greening Branch was a major production safety liability accident caused by the failure of the Jiuxin Plumbing Distribution Department to fulfill approval procedures, the illegal operations of on-site construction personnel, and insufficient risk awareness of confined spaces.
What are the dangerous characteristics of limited space operations?
First, the working environment is complex. The confined space is narrow and poorly ventilated, which is not conducive to gas diffusion, and toxic and harmful gases are easily accumulated. The poor lighting and communication make it difficult for normal operations and emergency rescue.
Second, the risk is high, and accidents often have serious consequences. Poisoning and suffocation of operators often occur in an instant, and some toxic gas poisoning can cause death within minutes or even seconds.
In view of the characteristics and dangers of confined spaces, adhering to the principle of accident pre-treatment, portable remote-measuring laser methane detectors can be used to obtain gas concentration data in confined spaces in advance to avoid accidents.
portable remote sensing laser methane detector
The remote active telemetry monitoring method does not require contact with the detected gas and has a detection distance of up to 150 meters.
Portable design, enabling easy scanning of leakage risk points at a distance. The response time is only 0.1 second, allowing accurate detection of ppm-level micro-leakage.
Compared with traditional detectors that are susceptible to interference from environmental and cross-gas factors, it has strong anti-interference capabilities. Fingerprint detection achieves true zero false alarm.
Colorful LED, full Chinese operation interface, closer to user's use.
With intelligent battery management technology, the product has a battery life of up to 16 hours.
The product has good stability, no need for regular calibration and maintenance, and a service life of more than 10 years.
