Not long ago, a natural gas leakage point was found in a community in Wangjing, Beijing. On the morning of March 2, residents of Wangjing West Road community reported through 12345 hotline that there was a smell of natural gas near the central garden of the community, but it was unclear where the leakage source came from. After inspection and testing by the emergency repair personnel, it was found that the leakage point was near building 7 in the central garden. In order to prevent major safety accidents, the gas company immediately closed the main valve of the building, stopped the gas in building 7, and ventilated the sealed attic. After day and night of emergency repair, the leakage point was finally completely repaired.
Spring is the season of high incidence of gas accidents. Due to the large temperature difference between day and night and crustal changes, the risk of gas leakage is high.
There are many gas transmission nodes such as pressure regulating boxes, pressure regulating cabinets, valve wells, unattended valve chambers, outdoor risers in residential areas and gas pipe wells distributed in the underground gas pipe network of the city. In case of gas leakage at these locations, it is very easy to form gas accumulation, resulting in potential safety hazards and accidents. These places are not only the important links of urban lifeline gas, but also the key nodes of gas pipelines connecting residential users.
Recently, Su Jie, director of the Safety Coordination Department of the emergency management department and spokesman, pointed out at a briefing held by the state information office that during the "14th five year plan" period, guide key cities across the country to accelerate the construction of comprehensive monitoring and early warning platforms for urban safety risks, so that all localities can "monitor, early warning and quickly deal with the risks of gas and related urban lifelines".

Hanhai photoelectric passive optical fiber laser leakage monitoring system is composed of laser monitoring platform and passive laser detector. Passive laser detectors can be installed in areas such as outdoor risers and gas tube wells in the community. The platform is connected with the detector and solenoid valve by optical fiber to form a gas safety monitoring network. In case of gas leakage, the system will immediately drive the solenoid valve to cut off the gas source to prevent combustion and explosion.
