In September 2023, Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch deployed an advanced laser gas detection system in the ethylene tank farm of its olefin plant to enhance safety production assurance capabilities. The system comprises four (ethylene) fixed scanning-type laser gas remote detectors and two (ethylene) fixed reflection-type laser gas remote detectors, specifically designed for 24/7 online monitoring of critical components prone to leaks, such as valves and flanges on the tanks, as well as the boundaries of the tank farm. Through intelligent and high-precision monitoring methods, the entire system achieves real-time monitoring and early warning of gas leaks across all areas of the ethylene tank farm without any blind spots, providing robust technological support for the safe production of Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch.
