PetroChina has adopted our company's Passive Optical Fiber Laser Leakage Monitoring System on the Shanjing IV Pipeline — the long-distance transmission pipeline with the largest diameter and highest pressure in China to date — establishing the world's first online monitoring network for buried long-distance pipelines. This system is designed to conduct 24/7 real-time online monitoring for buried pipelines and insulating joints along the Shanjing IV Pipeline. It addresses the long-standing challenge of being unable to detect leaks in buried pipelines, enabling real-time online leak monitoring in enclosed spaces traversed by natural gas pipelines without relying on external power supply. The system allows for the timely detection and remediation of minor leaks at their initial stage in buried pipelines, thereby avoiding excessive disposal costs or irremediable consequences caused by aggravated leaks in later stages. Having passed the acceptance inspection by PetroChina, the project has received positive feedback on its field operation performance. It has fully met the design and construction performance requirements, realizing all-weather monitoring of buried pipelines and early leak detection during operational phases, and ultimately elevating the overall safety management level of natural gas pipelines.
