National Fire Day

Around November 9, just when the dry, fire-prone, all parts of the country are in full swing to carry out winter fire prevention work. In order to increase people's awareness of fire safety and make“119” more popular, the Ministry of Public Security launched Fire Safety Day in 1992 and designated November 9 as the national“Fire publicity day”.

November 9,2022 is the 31st National Fire Day. Due to its special attributes, petrochemical industry is prone to fire, explosion and other disasters of high-risk industries, fire safety is the most important.

Characteristics of fire accidents in chemical enterprises

1. Big explosion threat. When a fire happens in a chemical enterprise, it usually explodes first and then burns or explodes after burning because of various factors. The destruction, deformation or collapse of the building structure caused by the explosion is very strong.

2. It burns fast. The raw materials and products in chemical production have the characteristics of low boiling point, strong volatility, and inflammability and explosion. Some flammable liquids are mobile and can spread out of control after a fire, causing the fire to spread and expand.

3. More toxic. Most of the chemical raw materials and products have strong corrosion and toxicity, and substances in the combustion process of a large number of toxic gases.

Solutions

In its report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) , the party called for Putting Safety First and putting prevention first, establishing a framework for major safety and emergency response, improving the public safety system, and promoting the transformation of the public safety governance model into an ex ante prevention model.
