Hanhai Opto-electronic is a major scientific research achievement transformation institution of the Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In March 2025, to meet the stringent safety monitoring requirements at the station area, Sinopec Hefei Chaohu LNG Filling Station installed a (methane) wall-mounted passive laser monitoring system specifically for the safety prevention and control of the storage tank area in its LNG containerized skid-mounted station, enabling precise monitoring of target areas such as the front, rear, and exterior of the storage tanks. One set of the (methane) wall-mounted passive laser monitoring system, comprising six terminals, was deployed in the aforementioned areas to comprehensively cover key points around the storage tanks where potential methane leaks may occur. By continuously capturing changes in the laser absorption characteristics of methane gas, the system achieves uninterrupted monitoring of methane concentrations in the area, providing reliable technological support for safe production at the station. Once the methane concentration exceeds the preset safety threshold, the system will immediately trigger an alarm mechanism, thereby establishing a robust safety barrier for the filling station during the gas storage process and effectively ensuring the safety of production operations at the station area as well as the safety of surrounding personnel and facilities.
